With the onset of industrialization and western migration in the U.S., there was an increased demand for cork closures. Since Lancaster, Pa. was known as the gateway city for this migration. G.W. Dodge and his son, B.G. Dodge went on to grow their business into the second-largest cork company in America. In 1985
Dodge Cork Company's cork regular length (RL) stoppers are punched and shaped from 100% natural wood from oak trees grown in Southern Portugal. These food grade cork stoppers come in varying sizes (1 to 20) are washed and assorted into different grades. Although natural variations do exist in both size and appearance, all Dodge Cork products meet or exceed industry standards.

What size is right for your needs? Typically, we recommend measuring the inside diameter of the opening of the hole you wish to fill then select the cork with the largest BOTTOM diameter smaller than your inside diameter of your item. We also offer assorted cork bags which have a range of different sizes to try.

RL Cork Grade:
Corks are sorted by highly skilled workers who eliminate the lower qualities from the higher. An select X4 cork will, therefore, have been sorted three or more times in succeeding operations before the final inspector passes the corks for packaging. We recommend either out Super X3 or Select X4 for most applications. See a list below of some potential uses:
